Why Do Cats Need Grooming?
There is a common misconception that cats groom themselves. Yes, they do lick themselves, but they do not CLEAN themselves.
Cats are naturally oily creatures. When this oil is left unattended to, it will eventually lead to tangles, matting and even pelting. Regular bathing every 6-8 weeks is recommended for most cats and should be done by a trained professional cat groomer.
Some facts:
- Cats have skin and hair, just like us. Skin and hair get oily and does not clean itself.
- Cats are prone to matting, dandruff, dander build up, fleas, ingrown nails, dirty bottoms, litter stuck to paws and other nasty stuff.
- Cats do not clean themselves. Their tongues may help smooth the hair out a little, but they don't magically clean themselves.
What are the benefits of a regular bath and blow dry schedule?
- A truly clean and fluffy cat that feels and looks its best
- Less shedding (or none at all)
- Fewer hairballs (or none at all)
- Nicely trimmed nails that are less likely to damage your furniture or skin and will prevent ingrown nails
- A clean rear end and feet that don't have any litter box 'surprises' attached
- No more matting
- Minimal at-home grooming requirements (or none at all)
- Less tear staining (or none at all)
- No more uncomfortable dandruff
- Fewer allergy issues (for both the cat and their people)
- A happy, beautiful kitty that others will admire
What We Offer
Grooming can be stressful. Throw in a car ride and you have a very unhappy cat. To help minimise this stress, Purrfect Paws Cat Grooming comes to you
Professional, Qualified Grooming Experience
I am an active member of the National Cat Grooming Institute of America and have completed their syllabus program, getting my hands-on experience with a certified master cat groomer in Melbourne. I also have my certificate II in Animal studies and am always looking for ways to continue my education, as you can never learn enough!
Not only does sedation pose an unnecessary risk to you cats health, it can also be a costly experience. Purrfect Paws Cat Grooming never uses sedation, instead relying on safe handling techniques and equipment.
Feline Exclusive
Being feline exclusive ensures that there is never a chance of your cat smelling left over dog smells that can cause added stress. I also have a Feliway diffuser running at all times, as well as having a Pet Tunes Feline playing soothing music to help minimise as much stress as possible.
